Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup whole milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
Stir in the vanilla extract until the batter is well combined.
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
